PIANO ADVENTURES START HERE
In the beginning, everyone is a beginner! So, I created a series of really easy piano books which even the youngest pianist will enjoy. The teacher owl introduces new notes and helps with music theory. The print is large and colourful and everything is explained slowly and clearly. ABOUT HEATHER MILNES
STUDENT. I took my music degree at the University of East Anglia, specialising in performing and composing. I then took a performer’s diploma in piano at Trinity College, London before, briefly, leaving the music world and working as a computer programmer for a several years. After taking a career break, when my children were small, I started teaching piano and enjoyed it so much that I didn’t want to go back to programming.
TEACHER. I have taught in schools, in Wiltshire and Gloucestershire as well as at home for over 30 years and have pupils from beginners to Grade 8. Over the years I have picked up many instruments and now play and teach not only the piano but also the flute, clarinet, saxophone and guitar.
WRITER. I also write music books for students of these instruments. These include the popular “Let’s Play Piano” series for young children as well as a wide range of Christmas and classical piano books. I live with my husband, Martin also a musician, in the beautiful Wiltshire village of Ashton Keynes. We have two grown-up sons and a feisty ginger moggie called Cinnamon.
